A Healthy Homemade Muffin Recipe
As a parent, I understand the constant struggle to find healthy and enjoyable food options for our little ones. With this in mind, I have created the pizza recipes specifically tailored for babies.
Combining the irresistible flavours of pizza with the soft texture of bread, this recipe provides a scrumptious and wholesome meal option.
By introducing this pizza-inspired dish to babies, they not only get to explore different tastes and textures, but they also enjoy a balanced meal that includes essential nutrients.
The Pizza Bread recipe not only encourages their dietary exploration but also promotes a love for nutritious foods from an early age, setting the foundation for a future of healthy eating habits. No added salt either!
Nutritional Benefits Of Cheese
Cheese, a versatile and delicious dairy product, can offer numerous benefits to babies as they embark on their journey to solid foods. Packed with essential nutrients like calcium, protein, and vitamins, cheese can contribute to healthy bone development and promote overall growth.
The rich and creamy texture of cheese can also aid in the introduction of different flavours making it an excellent choice for expanding a baby's palate.
Cheese provides a good source of fats necessary for brain development. However, it's important to choose age-appropriate cheese options, such as mild cheddar or mozzarella, and introduce them gradually to prevent any potential allergies or digestive issues (in the morning is best).
By incorporating cheese into a baby's diet, parents can provide a nutritious and enjoyable food option that supports their little one's developmental needs.
The Use Of Dried Herbs In Your Kitchen
In the bustling kitchen of an avid home cook, the store cupboard is their treasure trove of culinary magic. Nestled amidst the array of ingredients probably lies a collection of dried herbs. These humble herbs are a secret weapon that infuse every dish with a burst of flavour and depth.
With their long shelf-life, dried herbs are the cornerstone of any well-stocked cupboard. Whether it's the earthy aroma of dried thyme enhancing a hearty stew or the fragrant hint of Italian seasoning transforming a simple tomato sauce, these herbs offer an effortless way to elevate everyday meals.
Packed with essential oils and nutrients, they not only enhance the taste of dishes but also contribute to a healthier lifestyle. From their convenience to their versatility, dried herbs have rightfully earned their place in the store cupboard.

Ingredient information
Plain flour - I have sifted the flour as I think this gives a lighter texture (even though it’s plain flour)
Baking powder - A raising agent that is needed to make the bread rise a little.
Oregano - I have used dried oregano, a staple in the store cupboard.
Basil - Same with the oregano this is dried basil I have used.
Onion granules - These are great to throw in for a little more flavour, you could add a touch of garlic powder too!
Olive oil - You can use vegetable oil or even avocado oil if you prefer.
Egg - I have added a free range egg. You can either add more oil or use the egg as suggested.
Mozzarella - I think of mozzarella when it comes to a pizza so I think mozzarella works perfectly within this recipe.
Tomato paste - The tomato part of the pizza! Works so well and adds a rich tomato sauce flavour.
Serving Suggestion
This is great for easy lunch ideas, or an alternative to pizza night! They are the best English muffin pizzas. They can be served with chopped crudités like, cucumber, green pepper (bell pepper) and celery. The pizza muffins can be cut into bite-sized pieces from 9 months old, to help your baby pick up smaller pieces of food.
From 6 months old, they can be served halved or whole.

The little pizza style muffins can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days, in an airtight container.
If you wanted to reheat the little pizzas, you will need to make sure they are fully defrosted if you are removing from the freezer. Place in the oven on 180C or 350F and heat for 10 minutes.
Once defrosted they will not be able to be frozen again.
They are an easy snack so a great addition to make and have in your fridge.
Equipment used to help with this recipe
Airtight container - I much prefer the click-shut lids on these containers compared to others. They are also dishwasher and freezer safe and BPA free, so very suitable for food use.
Silicone cups - I love reusable kitchen stuff! These silicone muffin cases are dishwasher and freezer safe and can be used in the oven up to 230 degrees C! Ideal for individual baby portions.
Muffin tray - A non-stick muffin pan that will easily clean any spills from the muffin cases. You will need one of these to easily hold the muffin cases.

Next, add approx 2 tablespoons of the dough into each muffin case and press down. You will want to fill each case to the top.
Once all filled, pop into the oven for 25 minutes, until golden brown.
Leave to cool and serve at room temperature with a bowl of pizza sauce for dipping.
Hope you and your family enjoy!
Recipe notes
For best results to make the pizza cupcakes gluten free you can easily switch out the main ingredient which is the plain flour and use gluten free flour instead. This is an easy way to swap ingredients, but it may make the texture a little different and they may not rise as much.
The great thing is you could also use cheddar cheese instead of mozzarella, and add in sliced green pepper (bell pepper). Great recipe for an easy dinner or easy snack!
