    Great Cinnamon Rolls

My cinnamon pinwheels no sugar for baby led weaning are ideal for babies from 6 months of age for baby led weaning due to its simplicity and simple ingredients. With only four ingredients and no added sugar, these baked treats are an easy way to provide a nutritious option for little hands.

Baked to perfection, the cinnamon rolls are soft and easy to chew, making them suitable for babies who are beginning to explore solid foods.

By avoiding added sugar, this recipe ensures that babies can enjoy a healthy snack without unnecessary sweetness, promoting healthier eating habits from a young age. Easy recipes are what we need as busy parents.

    Can Babies Have Cinnamon Rolls

Babies can have cinnamon rolls if they are homemade and contain no added sugar, like this recipe. It is important to ensure that the ingredients are suitable for the baby's age and do not pose any choking hazards. They are great finger foods.

Always consult with a health care provider before introducing new foods to a baby's diet to prevent any adverse reactions.

Homemade cinnamon rolls can be a delicious treat for babies when prepared with their health and safety in mind.

What Is The Difference Between Cinnamon Bun And Cinnamon Roll

A cinnamon bun and a cinnamon roll are often used interchangeably, but there are slight differences between the two. The main distinction lies in the texture and shape of the final product.

A cinnamon bun is typically a soft texture and gooier, with a more cake-like texture. It is usually baked closely together so that the buns rise upwards and touch each other.

On the other hand, 2 bite cinnamon rolls are typically lighter and fluffier, with a more bread-like texture. Cinnamon rolls are usually baked further apart from each other, allowing them to expand and rise outwards rather than upwards.

Both are delicious treats enjoyed by many, each with its unique characteristics and variations,

    Ingredient information

Puff pastry - I have used ready rolled puff pastry this is perfect for this recipe. You could make your own pastry or roll pastry yourself it is up to you.

Cinnamon - I have used a sweet cinnamon, but you can use regular cinnamon too. You could add in a little cream cheese if you like, to add a cheesecake taste.

Dates - Dates blitzed are great for babies, as dates on their own could cause a choking hazard. Whole dates are ok from at least 12 months old.

Egg - I have used an egg wash but you could use a melted butter wash too or even a little avocado oil.

    Serving suggestion

The rolls will be great served with some plain Greek style yogurt with some fresh berries such as blueberries, strawberries or blackberries.

They would be great served alongside frosted watermelon too in these hot summer months.

    Storage instructions

The rolls can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days, stored in an airtight container.

If you wanted to freeze the rolls, you will need to make sure that the rolls have cooled down before transferring to either a freezer bag or airtight container. Ensure that the bag/airtight container is labelled with the item and the date. I use masking tape to label the airtight container.

To defrost the rolls, leave in the fridge overnight and make sure that they are fully defrosted, before re heating.

To reheat, place the rolls in a oven proof dish and reheat 180C/350F for 5 minutes. They can be eaten at room temperature.

Once the rolls have been defrosted you will not be able to reheat or refreeze.

Equipment used to help with this recipe

Baking Tray - I have chosen to use a non-stick and BPA free baking sheet - they are easy to clean and, if you buy more than one, easily stackable and easily stored.

Airtight container - I much prefer the click-shut lids on these containers compared to others. They are also dishwasher and freezer safe and BPA free, so very suitable for food use.

Nutri bullet - I have found a blender to be an invaluable tool in the preparation of many of my baby led weaning recipes.

    Recipe notes

If you wanted to make the recipe gluten-free, you will need to swap out the puff pastry for a gluten-free alternative.

To make the recipe vegan, replace the egg wash with a plant based melted butter, almond milk or olive oil instead, and just check that the pastry you use is vegan friendly.

Hope you and your family enjoy!
