    Can babies have yogurt smoothies

Yes! Have you or your baby tried a yogurt and frozen fruit smoothie before? This mango lassi recipe is an easy smoothie recipe for those busy mornings or a quick snack recipe even if you are not a smoothie person.

I remember having my first lassi and absolutely loving it, it is a yummy healthy breakfast for the whole family.

I really wanted to re create the mango lassi so that my son could enjoy and experience the same enjoyment! This is why I wanted to make my own and make sure it was amazing so I could share it with you all!

I knew he would like this recipe as it combines as least two of the things he likes! Mangos and yogurt!

I like the fact that this is so quick and easy to whip up and a great way for baby to try a new fruit! If you have a good blender then you are already halfway there to making this recipe!

If you don’t then I would definitely suggest purchasing one as they are so handy to have in the kitchen for a multitude of things! I use mine for so many things!

I have mentioned below that using ice in this recipe is optional! If you wanted a more cold lassi that is almost like drinking a creamy milkshake then do add ice to the blender to make this lassi next level!

You must give this a go! It’s so good and so tasty, for a delicious snack.

I’d love to know what you think!

    Ingredient information

Mango - If your little one hasn’t tried a mango I would highly suggest you try! This would be a great introduction to mango and spice! As it’s so subtle and delicious! Nutritious smoothies are great for baby and toddler, and adding fruit brings a natural sweetness to the yogurt recipe.

Greek yogurt - This is the staple in our home when it comes to my son! Perfectly creamy and packed with calcium!

Whole milk - I am still using whole milk for my son as he is only just turned 2! But you could use semi skimmed milk or your choice of plant based milk!

Cinnamon - A pinch of cinnamon really makes this lassi delicious! You could leave this out if you do not like cinnamon.

Ice - I have stated optional here, as you make not want this extra cold! The ice makes this more like an ice cream smoothie, we like adding the ice into the lassi, but it is completely up to you!

    Serving suggestion

The Greek yogurt smoothie could absolutely be served on its own for an easy snack. If you wanted to make this extra special for your family, you could use some squirting cream on top to make this a really indulgent dessert!

This could be a great mid afternoon delicious snack or as part of a breakfast or lunch, great for those picky eaters.

You could add in a little peanut butter or chia seeds for an added protein hit with a sprinkling of flax seeds. Or a little maple syrup for older kids for added sweetness.

Other recipes you may like: Cottage cheese fruit cups, Smoothie bowl, Apple pops for baby or 3 ingredient no baby cheesecake.

    Storage instructions

The mango lassi can be stored in yeh fridge for up to 3 days, in an air tight bottle! Or you could keep in an airtight container, it’s up to you!

Things may settle a little so make sure you shake the lassi before you serve and drink!

You could freeze the mango lassi, in silicone ice cube trays, or in an airtight container! You can store for up to 3 months in the freezer!

Equipment used to help with this recipe

Nutri bullet - I have found a blender to be an invaluable tool in the preparation of many of my baby led weaning recipes.

Airtight container - I much prefer the click-shut lids on these containers compared to others. They are also dishwasher and freezer safe and BPA free, so very suitable for food use.
