    Biscuit for Teething Babies

When it comes to soothing a teething baby's sore gums, oat bars emerge as a gentle yet delicious solution. This toothy milestone can be an uncomfortable time for both babies and parents, but these 2 ingredient treats offer a touch of relief.

Made from wholesome oats, this simple homemade teething biscuit recipe provides babies with a soft and chewy texture that is easy on their sensitive gums. The natural sweetness of oats adds a delightful flavour, encouraging little ones to explore new tastes while providing a healthy snack option.

Biscuit recipes for teething not only offer a comforting experience but also satisfy nutritional requirements, making them a win-win for both parent and child during this challenging phase.

No unnecessary additives or preservatives - just pure and gentle ingredients for your precious bundle of joy.

These baby biscuits for baby-led weaning are a convenient and healthy alternative to store-bought teething biscuits, ensuring that your little one's teething journey is made a little bit easier and tastier!

    Steel Ground Oats Recipe

Introducing solid foods to a baby is an exciting milestone for parents, and ground oats make a perfect choice for those first meals. These tiny powerhouses are not only gentle on delicate tummies but also packed with essential nutrients.

Ground oats are easily digestible and rich in fibre, aiding in healthy digestion and preventing constipation in little ones. The smooth, creamy texture makes them an ideal option for babies transitioning from a liquid-only diet.

These versatile grains are also an excellent source of iron, crucial for the growth and development of your baby.

Whether mixed with breast milk, formula, or pureed fruits, ground oats offer a nourishing and wholesome meal, providing a solid foundation for your baby's nutritional journey.

    Homemade Easy Snacks

Homemade snacks for babies offer lots of advantages over their supermarket counterparts. Firstly, homemade snacks allow parents to have full control over the ingredients used, ensuring that only the freshest and healthiest options are incorporated.

This provides peace of mind, knowing exactly what goes into their little one's tummy. Additionally, homemade snacks can be tailored to accommodate specific dietary needs or allergies, catering to a baby's unique requirements.

A homemade nutritious snack allows for variety and experimentation, introducing babies to different flavours and textures early on. On the other hand, supermarket snacks might be convenient, but they often come with higher sugar, preservative, and salt content.

When it comes to nourishing our little bundles of joy, nothing beats the love, care, and creativity put into homemade healthy recipes.

Pureed fruits, like mashed bananas or stewed apples, make for delightful and naturally sweet treats. You can also whip up homemade yogurt ice cream using unsweetened Greek yogurt and blended berries.

For those on the go, make a batch of sugar-free oaty bars like these. And don't forget about roasted sweet potatoes or steamed carrot fingers, perfect for little hands to explore and munch on.

With a little creativity, you can easily create a variety of wholesome and sugar-free snacks that will leave your baby craving for more. The best thing is they will turn out great and taste amazing.

    Ingredient information

Rolled oats - I have blitzed the oats in a food processor to make a fine powder, so easy to do and perfect for making the right consistency for a smooth porridge for your baby. A great way to make oat flour yourself at home too.

Water - The perfect second ingredient for the bars. Makes the baby rusks vegan and dairy free too. A great finger food for baby.

    Storage instructions

    Storing in the fridge cooked:

All you will need to do is store in an airtight container or a freezer-safe container or even tightly wrapped plastic wrap and keep in the fridge for up to 5 days. Just make sure the biscuits are at room temperature before packaging up.

You can also store the cooked biscuits in the freezer in the same way for up to 3 months.

    Store in the freezer raw:

All you will need to do is place the raw cut biscuits in an airtight container, in between each layer of biscuits you will need to place some baking parchment.

When you decide to cook the biscuits from frozen you will need to cook an extra 5 minutes or so.

Equipment used to help with this recipe

Mixing bowl - I like to use a stainless steel mixing bowl - they are usually lightweight and easy to clean.

Baking tray - I have chosen to use a non-stick and BPA free baking sheet - they are easy to clean and, if you buy more than one, easily stackable and easily stored.

    Ingredients

    Instructions

    1. Preheat your oven to 180C or 350F. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Blitz the ground oats if you haven’t done so, and add to a medium bowl.
    3. Add In the water and mixing using a spoon, finish off by bringing all the ingredients together with your hands.
    4. Next place the oat dough on a work surface and press down with your hand until about 1cm thick. You can use a rolling pin if you wish but you do not need to.
    5. The mixture may be a little sticky but this is ok. You don’t need to flour the surface, but you can do this if the mixture is sticking too much to your worktop!
    6. Once the dough is pressed down, make the dough into a square shape by using the palms of your hands
    7. Cut into 6 bars and place on the prepared baking sheet and pop in the oven for 20-25 minutes. You could use a cookie cutter of your choice if you wish to make some fun shapes.
    8. Leave to cool before giving to your baby.
    9. Hope you and your family enjoy!

    Notes

You could add in some chia seeds or flaxseed to the oat biscuits or you could even add in some blueberries or raspberries if you wanted to.
