    Weetabix and Banana

Weetabix banana flavour are popular choices for baby led weaning due to their nutritional value and soft texture, making them a great way for babies to handle and eat independently. Weetabix provides essential iron and fibre, crucial for a baby's growth and development, while bananas offer natural sweetness and potassium.

Combining the two creates a balanced meal that introduces different tastes and textures to babies, encouraging them to explore and enjoy a variety of foods early on.

When served in appropriate portions and cut into manageable pieces, Weetabix and banana can be a nutritious and convenient option for babies beginning their solid food journey.

    Weetabix Breakfast Pudding

Weetabix and banana pudding is an ideal choice for baby-led weaning due to its soft texture that is easy for babies to manage independently, they are both great finger foods in their own right. The combination of Weetabix and banana provides a balanced mix of carbohydrates, fibre, and natural sweetness essential for a baby's diet.

This quick and easy recipe requires minimal preparation, making it convenient for busy parents. The pudding can be easily mashed, for babies to self-feed, promoting their motor skills development.

The ingredients are nutrient-dense, offering a healthy and tasty option for babies exploring solid foods during the weaning process.

    Ingredient information

Weetabix biscuit - I have used Weetabix, you could use a homemade granola too if you prefer.

Yogurt - I have used a plain Greek style yogurt, you could use a plain natural yogurt or a vegan/plant based alternative for dairy free/vegan babies.

Banana - Packed with potassium, a great sweet treat for weaning and great to be used as a natural sweetener instead of sugar for many baby recipes.

Milk - I have used whole milk but you could use a semi skimmed milk or an oat milk for dairy free babies.

Peanut butter - I have used a smooth 100% nut butter for this recipe as there are no added sugars or salt.

    Serving suggestion

This is great served on its own, if you did want to serve with something else, toast fingers or egg muffins would be a great option.

You could serve with fresh fruit such as strawberries, blueberries or blackberries.

Other recipes you may like: Peach melba, Overnight Weetabix recipe, Overnight oats, Chia pudding or Breakfast muffin.

    Storage instructions

This can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days, just be mindful of the best before date of the yogurt, if it is up in during those 3 days it may not be ok to serve to your little one.

You could save half of the yogurt for the next day, as it is a large portion. That would be ok too. It is possible to serve the pots at room temperature.

It is possible to freeze the pots, they can be frozen for up to 3 months.

Make sure you leave the pots overnight in the fridge before serving, makes for a frozen treat too to replace a vanilla ice cream if you wish.

Equipment used to help with this recipe

Kilner jars - These are snack sized glass pots with easy push-on silicone lids which are water tight and leak-proof making them ideal for carrying light bites and snacks on-the-go.

Airtight container - I much prefer the click-shut lids on these containers compared to others. They are also dishwasher and freezer safe and BPA free, so very suitable for food use.
