    Weetabix Balls For Baby

Weetabix balls are an excellent snack or tasty breakfast idea for baby-led weaning, as they are simple to prepare (with a quick delivery time) and require only two ingredients: crushed Weetabix and your choice Greek yogurt.

These nutrient-dense balls provide a good source of fibre and carbohydrates, making them a wholesome option for little ones.

The soft texture is perfect for small hands, allowing babies to practise their fine motor skills while enjoying a tasty bite-sized treat.

Plus, they can be easily customised with a third ingredient by adding fruit such as berry purees like wild berry, seed butter or a little cocoa powder (from 12 months old), ensuring your baby is excited about their meals as part of a healthy balanced diet. Your little ones will give them a gold star review.

From What Age Can Baby Have Weetabix

Weetabix can be introduced to your baby as part of baby-led weaning from around six months of age, when they are developmentally ready to handle solid foods.

It is essential to ensure that your little one is sitting upright and can grasp and chew food independently.

For a first try, Weetabix can be served with a splash of whole milk or mashed banana to soften it slightly and enhance the flavour, making it easier for your baby to eat.

Always ensure you monitor for any allergies and consult with your healthcare provider if you have concerns about introducing new foods.

    Storage instructions

The delicious bite-sized weetabix bites can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days, stored in an airtight container.

If you are freezing the bites, you can store the in an airtight container or air lock bag.

Make sure that the bag/airtight container is labelled with the item and the date. I use masking tape to label the airtight container.

To defrost the bites, leave in the fridge overnight and make sure they are fully defrosted.

Once the bites have been defrosted you will not be able to refreeze.

Equipment used to help with this recipe

Large bowl - Definitely choose a stainless steel one - they are lighter than the stone or glass ones and very easy to clean.

Airtight container - I much prefer the click-shut lids on these containers compared to others. They are also dishwasher and freezer safe and BPA free, so very suitable for food use.
