Ingredient information
Fresh apples - I have used a regular sweet apple for this recipe. I have used a Gala apple, but the recipe will work well with whichever apple you choose to use. You could even use a tart apple such as a pink lady apple or granny smith apple.
Cinnamon - I have used cinnamon to add a little extra flavour to the apple. I also feel cinnamon works really well with apple. You can choose to leave this out though if you prefer, or use other warm spices such as sweet cinnamon or nutmeg.
Serving suggestion
The cinnamon apples are great served as they are as a delicious snack, and a great introduction to apples to your little ones. You could serve as a delicious side dish alongside plain Greek yogurt for dipping if you like.
You could melt a little butter before you bake the apple and drizzle over the apple slices. Bake and then delicious.
Alternatively, you could blitz in a food processor with Greek yogurt to make apple pops. A great option for baby-led weaning.

You can also freeze the healthy baked apple for up to 3 months in the freezer but I would freeze in a small freezer-safe bag or in pre-prepared snack bags.
To make life easy! Make sure that they have cooled down to room temperature before transferring to a container or freezer bag.
To defrost this simple recipe, leave in the fridge overnight.
Once defrosted you will not be able to refreeze.
Equipment used to help with this recipe
Baking tray - I have chosen to use a non-stick and BPA free baking sheet - they are easy to clean and, if you buy more than one, easily stackable and easily stored.
Airtight container - I much prefer the click-shut lids on these containers compared to others. They are also dishwasher and freezer safe and BPA free, so very suitable for food use.
