Ingredient information
Tomato paste - I have used tomato puree as this is the quickest way to make a homemade ketchup.
Onion Granules - You could fry a small diced onion instead of the onion granules for added flavour.
Paprika - This spice works perfectly with tomato and gives the ketchup the kick it needs.
Smoked paprika - Adding a smokey taste to the ketchup is delicious, this can be left out if you prefer.
Cinnamon - A spice that adds a touch of sweetness to the sauce.
Vinegar - Adds the acidic touch that a ketchup needs.
Serving suggestion
As we all know ketchup is great served with chips or fries, or you could serve with a burger or they could be great served with my spinach and egg fingers.
Storage instructions
If you have a kilner jar or an equivalent jar this is the best way to store the ketchup. The ketchup can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days, or if you prefer you can store in an airtight container for up to 3 months and bring the ketchup out in portions when you may need.
Equipment used to help with this recipe
Nutri bullet - I have found a blender to be an invaluable tool in the preparation of many of my baby led weaning recipes.
Dip pots - These stainless steel little dipping pots are ideal for little fingers!
Kilner jar - Hygienic glass jars that you can purchase either with a screw top or an airtight clip top. Ideal for storing small amounts of homemade ketchup and chutney.
